GEAR was founded in February 2007 with the goal of becoming the leading equipment rental company in India. GEAR is creating a unique organization in the Indian market place by leveraging the strong relationships of its stakeholders with leading global players in the plant equipment rental industry and has introduced and standardized international best practices in the Indian rental space.

GEAR currently has over 260 pieces of equipment and aims to increase its fleet size to 1,000 by 2014.  GEAR has over 650 employees and is headquartered at Mumbai; it has regional offices in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Secunderabad and Delhi.

GEAR has, as its clients, some of India’s largest infrastructure and construction companies.  GEAR is now targeting new sectors including power, oil & gas and repairs & maintenance and expects to augment its client list with key players in these sectors.

GEAR is also the first equipment rental company to implement an ERP system with Oracle as its chosen system partner.
