International Education Corporation (IEC) is the parent company of the subsidiaries that operate UEI College (UEI), United Education Institute, Florida Career College (FCC), and U.S. Colleges. The company is headquartered in Irvine, California, and provides management support to all IEC subsidiaries in the areas of accounting, human resources, marketing, policies and procedures, compliance, campus operations, public relations, and governmental affairs.
The founding company, United Electronics Institute, was formed in October 1982, in Los Angeles County, California. The name was changed to United Education Institute (UEI) in 1989. In 2009, the Southern California campuses became UEI College to further expand their program offerings and include degree granting curriculum. Today, UEI operates 12 campuses in California, one campus in Arizona, one campus in Georgia, and one campus in Texas.
In August of 2014, IEC acquired a number of campuses under the trade name of Florida Career College and it continues to operate 10 campuses in Florida. As part of the 2014 transaction, IEC also acquired five U.S. Colleges in California, which offer short-term programs in specialized skills.
Through its divisions, IEC offers a wide range of educational services from short-term, highly specialized training, to diploma and degree programs in verticals such as healthcare, business, technology, trades, cosmetology, automotive, and criminal justice. IEC’s approach to education is student-centric, hands-on, practitioner-oriented, career-focused, and developed by subject matter experts, experienced curriculum specialists and industry leaders, and focused on the demands of the marketplace.
